The book of Esther is a satirical, violent, sometimes humorous portrait of life outside of Israel. Unlike the books of Daniel and Ezra, Esther imagines life completely away from Jerusalem and the temple, and contains no mention of the Torah. In life, we often find ourselves asking, “Where is God?” — The answer to that question can be found in the amazing story of Esther!
